We purchased a 10 kWh house battery from Retrofitted (partnering with InstaGen) to complement an existing 3.75 kW solar panel set-up. The purchase decision was assisted by Retrofitted's friendly sales person, Claudia, who answered our pre-sale questions thoroughly, promptly, and without rushing us into a decision before we were ready. After the battery was installed a configuration problem became apparent which had been caused by a cable from the original solar panel installation having been mislabelled in the consumer unit. Unfortunately this was not double-checked by InstaGen's installers. (It was successfully rectified subsequently.) Even at this stage Claudia followed up the sale to ensure that we were happy with the result. Her friendly and caring support has been very reassuring. I should mention here that her colleague Johannes also got in touch. He talked us through the decisions involved in optimising the totality of the set-up, including recommendations for suitable tariff packages offered by competing energy suppliers. This too has been very helpful. I have withheld one star because of the teething problem that should have been avoided during the installation.

In 2024 alone, there were already about 225 hours of such events. Additionally, [Capture AI] sells back spare capacity to the grid when prices are highest and connects your battery to so-called 'flexibility markets', where grid provider pay you for helping to stabilise the grid. This means that with an optimally configured battery powered by Capture AI, you could significantly lower your electricity bills—potentially to zero.

No, but we partner with trusted regional installers. Each partner is MCS-certified, has decades of experience, and is backed by a strong balance sheet. We carefully vet our partners to ensure top-quality installation for your battery system.

Do I need to switch supplier to use Capture AI?

No, you don't need to switch suppliers. However, during onboarding, we'll recommend the most cost-effective electricity tariffs for you to maximize your savings with Capture AI.

Does [Capture AI] work on any battery?

Currently, [Capture AI[ is compatible with InstaGen and Tesla Powerwall batteries. If you'd like to use our software with a different system, sign up here to express your interest.

Don't I need solar for this to work?

No, you don't need solar panels. In fact, for most UK homeowners, a battery-only system has a faster payback period than a combined solar + battery setup. That said, Capture AI also integrates seamlessly with solar PV if you have it.
